In compliance with Massachusetts law (MGL c. 15A, § 18), students are required to participate in the ENC-sponsored Student Health Insurance Program or a program of similar or better coverage by a US-based insurance provider.

This requirement extends primarily to students who are 75% or more of “full-time” status, in certificate or degree-granting programs that are delivered in semester-length courses and in campus or hybrid environments. The requirement does not extend to exclusively online students, students participating exclusively in short-term courses, and students who are below 75% of full-time status.

Students are automatically billed for the ENC-sponsored Student Health Insurance Program. To complete the process, students must either complete the enrollment form or submit a waiver documenting comparable or better coverage by a US-based insurance plan before the prescribed deadline(s). International students who meet the qualifying criteria are required to participate in (and may not waive) the ENC-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan in their first year.

Students waiving the ENC-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan are strongly encouraged to review their coverage limits and network options carefully to ensure adequate coverage with local healthcare providers.
