6.7.2. Personal Growth Sanctions

  • Reflection Essay: Reflect on behaviors and their impact on the community. Includes specific parameters.
  • Mentorship and Restoration: In order to help instill community responsibility and to restore students to good-standing in the community, mentors may be assigned. These mentors are faculty, staff or constituents of the ENC community who help the student develop a greater connection to the campus, reinforce ENC’s commitment to the student and help students not feel alone in the disciplinary process while providing accountability for behavioral changes. Mentors give students hope and encouragement in their college and life journey. 
  • Educational Project: Attendance at an educational program or workshop, participation in an online program, listen to a discussion on a specific topic, write a personal essay, write a reflection, or complete a project on issues relevant to a violation(s) for which a student has been found responsible.  
  • Assessment: A student may be referred to Counseling Services, Health Services, or other appropriate office or local agency for consultation or assessment
